Summary:
- El-Eqtsadiya (2) S/S is considered as one of the largest substations which executed by XD||EGEMAC, with a rating of 500/220/66/22 kV, the project is located in the Industrial Zone-Suez Governorate; the main purpose and objective from El-Eqtsadiya (2) substation is a reinforcement of the 500 kV electrical network to face the increase in the electrical energy demands and secure reliable power supply with minimum losses of transmitted power in the national grid.
- The substation consists of:
- (8) Eight 500kV double circuits; (4) Four of them are used to connect the substation with both Sokhna PP 500kV & Administrative Capital 500kV.
- (8) Eight 220kV double circuits; (4) Four of them are used to connect the substation with both Egypt Cement & Ataka stations.
- The substation is located on an area of 160,000 square meters, northwest of the Gulf of Suez.
- The substation mainly consists of the following equipment:
- (10) bays 500 kV GIS.
- (14) bays 200 kV GIS.
- (16) bays 66 kV GIS.
- (7) 250 MVA, 500/220/22 kV Single phase Autotransformers.
- (3) l75 MVA, 220/66 kV Power Transformers.
- (4) 40 MVA, 66/22 kV Power Transformers.
